If you have one of these Snow Apple Airport Base stations you may have noticed that newer versions of the Apple Airport Utility do not support the older base stations. And older versions of the Base Station Utility won’t launch on newer macs. Here’s how to fix this problem and still use your old base station with a newer Macintosh computer.
In Australia there is a very clever scam going on at the moment. When your email stops working, you may get a call from someone claiming they are from ‘Apple Support.’ It may be a polite greeting like ‘Hello this is Mary from Apple Support and we’ve noticed you’ve had a problem with your Gmail on your Apple Computer. This is a problem we are working to fix. Are you at your computer now…’ etc. This happened to a relative of mine and it was soooo convincing that I could not initially convince them that it was not Apple! To verify it we asked for a case number from the person, then rang Apple support, to find there was no such case number.
I just went to sync my iPhone and I was given this message. This ‘lack of space’ is not a lack of space in your computer, the ‘lack of space’ is on the iPhone. This is somewhat of a bug. I think it is because iTunes is wanting to do some updates to the iPhone and there’s not enough room on the iPhone for this to happen. Whatever the cause, the solution is quite easy. Just uninstall some stuff from your iPhone (e.g. movies, music or photos), sync it, then put the stuff back on. Here’s how.
If you woke up today and your ethernet port is not working, it’s because Apple put out a secret release last night that broke it. (You didn’t even need to download a software update, it came overnight…)
Apple haven’t released a fix yet but nurds all over the world are trying to solve it.
I have a 2009 Apple Airport Extreme. Quite often, once a week or so, I was losing my Internet connection and I would have to reboot the base station to fix it. After reading a few forums I discovered there is a bug in the most recent Apple AirPort Extreme base station firmware. Here is how to fix it by reverting back to an older version.
