You can't recompress a 128 mp3 up to 320. The quality is already lost. You need to go from the original CD to 320 to get the increase in quality.

Hmmm. Good question. My understanding is that when you copy a 'data' CD it makes an EXACT copy, because a data CD has extra built in error correction that an 'audio' CD does not have. So I think the i-tunes import with the 'Use error correction when importing Audio CD's' is the same as the first method IF you have an audio CD. BUT if say you are mastering and you want perfect reproduction of an audio file you are better off saving it to a data CD as an aiff, then copying it back to the computer, rather than burning it to an audio CD.

You are a life saver. For some reason iWeb will not FTP my site. It is hosted by Godaddy. I used w2w and it worked. Apple would not help me unless I paid more. This is the only call I have made to Apple for Ilife 09. I think they should give you like 10 tech calls that never expire. Anyhow thanks for your info. A huge help.

On top of? Really? All the time I wasted dragging the second file UNDER the first file. Ahhhhh!
Thanks for tanking the time to write this page.

I followed this process and it worked 100%. I am very happy with the outcome. My MBP boots much quicker as do the apps. All data is still coming from my HD. The OWC data doubler kit was a breeze to install too. All up, an excellent result.
Thanks for the excellent instructions.

if it's not working, it's because what you are trying to merge is not saved as a pdf, but instead as something like jpg. resave each of the files first as a pdf & it should work with the above steps.

Just a note to everyone, I tried this trick and was running into problems merging...While I was able to merge the PDF's, I noticed that a few field vaules in one page were overwriting their values to the next page. I fixed this by printing the original pdf file (with editable fields) to just a static document (no editing possible without special software). After that, I was able to merge with no problem. If someone has already explained this, sorry for stepping on toes...

Just my 2 cents...

thanks
