@shannon you are right: to go to quicktime it's a two step process you then need to use quicktime player pro 7 or that software you have to export into a .mov file. I heard the handbrake team are working on direct export to quicktime.

Well, I don't know what the replies up above are smoking, but Handbrake does not produce a Quicktime. I have to use a second program, MPEG streamclip, to create a Quicktime from the file that Handbrake produces, an MP4. Boy, I would kill for a program that can convert a DVD directly into a Quicktime. If you are not editing your content on a Quicktime based editing system (like FCP), however, you may not care, as MP4's behave a lot like Quicktime. If anybody DOES know of a software that actually will convert a Quicktime in one step from a DVD, please tell!

No one....and I mean NO ONE has obsessively and robustly test driven note apps as robustly as I have! My friends are tired of me talking about the subject. I see so many app ads depicting a beautiful noting lifestyle with pics, videos and audio, friends smiling, kids playing in the river, glasses of wine next to fresh bread. Take the time to create these memories on your device then sync once and it's all back to plain text or gone completely. Waaamp waaamp waawaaaa!

@ "I’m beginning to think that somehow this is a limitation by apple because so many apps have come near but not quite made it. How hard can it be to have an app that lets you take notes, in different fonts, add a picture, and sync to a desktop app?"

This infuriates me to no end. Hand-held Evernote is ugly with microscopic font and if you edit notes constantly on your hand-held as I do, you MUST be always on the net (which I'm not) or you are sunk because of forced sync PLUS you can't text search note BOOKS. That's right! You can search for notes but note BOOKS won't display in a search so, a-scrolling we will go, a-scrooling we will goooo. I use Evernote for storage only now on my computer and I'm testing AwesomeNote against NoteMaster on my device.
I have read that rich text editing/syncing is impossible on iPhone/iPod Touch. Oh really? How is it that I have a device that does so much else and I can't fully info share with my Mother Ship? (home computer) Indeed, I can email rich text so why not be able to sync them?

GGRRRR!!!!!!!!!! *stomp* *stomp* *stomp*

I don't understand properly the instructions to install python and the associated stuff... especially the python card.

I have a PythonCard-0.8.2 directory on my desktop.
But I don't understand these instructions...

"Open the Terminal application and do a cd to that directory and then run the setup.py script using the 2.5.1 Python you just installed. The sudo command will prompt you for your password.

[mymachine:~] bob% cd ~/Desktop/PythonCard-0.8.2
[mymachine:~/Desktop/PythonCard-0.8.2] bob% sudo python setup.py install

By default, the PythonCard framework will be installed into /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/site-packages/PythonCard/. You'll probably want to make an alias to this directory to keep on your desktop or home folder to make it easier to get to the PythonCard tools and samples."

Any help welcome!

For JOE and others struggling with DIFFERENTLY SIZED pdfs/images needing to be merged......

Use the instructions above to merge/rearrange the files..... then go to PRINT and in the page set up select the correct orientation for your files and select "scale each page to fit paper".... this will make everything letter size (or whatever paper you have.....

This worked for me to mix a word doc title page, with other random sized photoshop files.....

only works for reducing big files though... haven't worked out how to increase sizes if necessary....

I'm always looking into stuff on topics that I don't know about. It's tough to search things that you don't know of, because what do you look for? ;) Your blog is the type of thing I love to read about regarding something new to me. Great post! Thank you.
