Mac the ripper is a little program that allows you to copy a DVD to your computer, and at the same time it removes the copy protection. (This is called ‘ripping’ a DVD)
Click here to go to the mactheripper page to download it. Otherwise click  here to download it locally.  Basically it will copy a DVD from your DVD player to your computer – you’ll need to watch it with DVD Player. If you want to convert a DVD it to a different format, for example to watch on your iphone, or to put on the web, try  handbrake.

i’ve also tried mac the ripper before. but it failed to remove the CSS protection from my DVD. and i finally switched to wondershare dvd ripper for mac, which did the trick for me. here is its step by step user guide

Do you work for these guys? Mac the ripper does remove CSS protection. Wondershare costs $45. Mac the ripper is free!

I don’t work for anyone and I see right away that your free app does not convert to a usable playback format on the Mac. Other software is needed. The one mentioned above does it all (or at least claims to).

You can do it all with the built in Disk Utility. I’ve done it.

    For instance, try these instructions:

Actually, just follow the instructions in Disk Utility help, which spell out everythihg to make it work.
